About The Position

Become part of Essentia’s accomplished team as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Brainerd and Baxter, Minnesota. This role is part of the Float Pool, meaning RNs work in multiple areas of the hospital, covering shifts and providing care wherever there is a need, whether in medical-surgical units, emergency departments, or specialized care areas. This position requires adaptability and flexibility to quickly adjust to different patient populations and clinical settings, ensuring seamless care and support across the hospital. Float pool RNs help manage patient care needs during peak times, staff shortages, or special circumstances, contributing to overall operational efficiency and high-quality patient outcomes. Exposure to diverse clinical environments allows float pool RNs to enhance their skills and experience in various specialties, making them valuable assets to the entire healthcare team. Units RNs will float to include: Medical Unit, Med/Surg Unit, IMC/ICU, and Emergency Department. This position will work 60 hours per pay period, every third weekend, with 12-hour shifts available for both overnight (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) and day shifts (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM).

Requirements

  • BSN or ADN degree from an accredited school or college of nursing.
  • Current nursing licensure in state(s) of employment.
  • BLS certification within one month.
  • ACLS certification within one year.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and deliver comprehensive care by managing all phases of the patient care process, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
  • Act as a team leader by delegating care responsibilities to nursing staff based on their licensure, training, and role specifications.
  • Play a crucial role in advancing the facility’s and Essentia’s mission and goals, making a meaningful impact on the community we serve.
  • Adhere to the standards set by the Joint Commission and other relevant federal, state, and local regulatory or accrediting agencies.
  • Float to multiple areas of the hospital, covering shifts and providing care wherever there is a need, whether in medical-surgical units, emergency departments, or specialized care areas.
  • Adapt quickly to different patient populations and clinical settings, ensuring seamless care and support across the hospital.
  • Help manage patient care needs during peak times, staff shortages, or special circumstances.
  • Enhance skills and experience in various specialties through exposure to diverse clinical environments.
