About The Position
Ohel is seeking a caring and compassionate Registered Nurse to join their team in a part-time role. This position supports adults with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities in a residential setting in Queens. As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse will promote the health, well-being, and quality of life of the individuals served. This role involves close collaboration with residents, physicians, other healthcare providers, residential and day program staff, and family members to ensure coordinated, person-centered care.
Requirements
- A current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
Nice To Haves
- At least two years of post-graduate hospital experience
- Experience working with individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities is a plus
Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate medical care for individuals living in our residential program
- Monitor each individual's health and well-being through ongoing assessment and follow-up
- Collaborate with medical providers, residential staff, day program staff, and families to support continuity of care
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation
- Provide health-related training and guidance to residential staff
- Help develop and implement medical policies and best practices within the program
