About The Position

Peachford, the leading and largest free-standing psychiatric hospital in Georgia, is seeking Registered Nurses (RNs) with experience or interest in Mental Health Nursing to join their mission. Peachford has been a leader in behavioral health and addictive disease treatment since 1973, treating nearly 10,000 children, adults, and seniors annually. The hospital is located on a 38-acre wooded campus in the Dunwoody neighborhood of North Atlanta and employs over 500 individuals. They are specifically looking for RNs to work weekend shifts for a premium pay base rate, with options for Friday/Saturday/Sunday or Saturday/Sunday/Monday schedules, each involving 12-hour shifts. Sign-on bonuses are available for full-time positions, and Charge Nurse roles with a differential are also offered. The role emphasizes providing compassionate care in a challenging and rewarding work environment.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
State of Georgia or eCompact MultiState Nursing License.
Written and oral communication skills.
Skills in case management.
Skills in time management.
Knowledge of acute psychological disorders, and advanced principals of abnormal psychology.
Familiarity with follow-up resource services available to patients.
Skills in maintaining information as highly confidential.
Ability to treat all age populations as needed or have the capacity to develop skills through the organization’s cross-training and orientation program.
Ability to clearly summarize pertinent clinical information via written correspondence and medical records documentation.

Nice To Haves

One year of nursing experience.
Experience or interest in Mental Health Nursing.

Understanding of mental illness and its effects.

Responsibilities

Provide care to patients in a mental health/psychiatric/behavioral health/addictive disease setting.
Work weekend shifts (Friday/Saturday/Sunday or Saturday/Sunday/Monday) with 12-hour shifts.
Potentially serve as a Charge Nurse, which includes a differential.
Consult with patients and advocate for their care.
Maintain healthy boundaries with patients.
Verbally de-escalate agitated patients.
Support teamwork.
Follow rules and policies.
Ensure patient safety.
