About The Position

Under minimal supervision, the Registered Nurse provides nursing care to an assigned group of patients, matching patients’ needs with the nurse’s competencies. The nurse completes established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period and performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Possess a current Texas State license as a Registered Nurse.
• For Adult ED: Have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at hire from ARC or AHA; obtain AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
• For Adult ED: Complete AHA ACLS within 60 days of hire or transfer into the role, preferably before the end of the orientation period.
• For Adult ED: Complete AHA PALS within 60 days of hire or transfer into the role, preferably before the end of the orientation period. PALS is not required in Adult ED at North Central Baptist Hospital.
• For Adult ED: Complete TNCC within one year of hire or transfer into the unit.
• For Adult ED: Obtain Non-Violent Crisis Intervention within 60 days of hire or transfer to the position.
• For Pediatric ED: Have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at hire from ARC or AHA; obtain AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
• For Pediatric ED: Complete AHA PALS within 60 days of hire or transfer into the role, preferably before the end of the orientation period.
• For Pediatric ED: Complete TNCC within one year of hire or transfer into the unit.
• For Pediatric ED: Obtain Non-Violent Crisis Intervention within 60 days of hire or transfer to the position.
• For Pediatric ED: Complete ENPC within 18 months of hire or transfer into the role.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Two years of acute care experience preferred.
• ENPC preferred.
