About The Position

This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Comprehensive Procedure Center, working .6 FTE on days. The role is responsible for the total direct nursing care of all patients within established standards of care, hospital and unit policies, procedures, and guidelines. The nurse will function as a patient advocate, coordinate patient and family education, and continuously plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. They will also assist physicians with procedures, supervise non-licensed personnel, prepare rooms and equipment, and clean/disinfect instruments. Collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary team members for care plans, effective communication of relevant information, and timely documentation of patient condition changes are key aspects of this role. Participation in continuing education, risk management, and quality improvement initiatives is also expected, along with performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification by date of hire
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider ACLS certification by date of hire

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing.
1 year experience within the last 3 years in endoscopy, ICU, PACU, or Ambulatory Surgical setting.
CGRN certification

Responsibilities

Provides direct patient care and functions as a patient advocate.
Coordinates the patient and family/significant other education process.
Continuously plans, implements, and evaluates patient care, incorporating patient and family/significant other into the process.
Assists physicians with procedures.
Supervises non-licensed personnel assigned to patient care.
Prepares rooms, equipment and supplies to accommodate patient load.
Cleans and disinfects instruments and equipment.
Participates with physician partners and other interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient and family/significant other plan of care.
Communicates effectively all relevant information (e.g., patient information, safety issues, problems with equipment, quality issues, etc.) to immediate supervisor, in timely way.
Communicates and documents changes in patient condition, on a timely basis, to charge nurse/supervisor and physician.
Participates in continuing education programs
Participates in risk management and quality improvement initiatives.
Performs other duties as assigned.
