Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Cross accepted.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification specializing in The S.T.A.B.L.E Program preferred
  • Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialized direct nursing care for critically ill neonates in a Level III NICU setting, strictly adhering to protocols to ensure the highest standards of patient safety and clinical outcomes.
  • Execute and adapt comprehensive patient care plans by meticulously monitoring vital signs and neurological status, utilizing advanced medical technology to record and communicate rapid changes in condition to the interdisciplinary team.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and specialized consultants to facilitate a seamless, integrated approach to complex neonatal treatment.
  • Lead the coordination of complex discharge planning, educating families on neonatal specialized care and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure a safe and supportive transition from hospital to home.
