The leadership team fosters an environment that supports learning, mentoring, and building every team member. Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Lake Pointe in Rowlett, TX is a community-based hospital with all the benefits of an urban medical center due to the specialties we offer to the community which is uncommon for this size facility. We have an extremely large footprint of outpatient services in the community including physical medicine, wound care, sleep center, imaging, and two free-standing Emergency Departments. These outpatient services serve the communities of Rowlett, Forney, Wylie, and many more in the surrounding area. Lake Pointe is licensed for 176 beds which include three medical surgical units, an intensive care unit, Labor & Delivery, New Family Unit, Antepartum, Neonatal Intensive Care, Surgical Services, Cardiac Cath Lab, Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology, and Emergency Department. The hospital carries multiple designations including Level III Trauma, Chest Pain Accreditation, Primary Stroke Accreditation, Maternal and Level III NICU. Nursing is on their journey towards Pathways to Excellence and will seek Magnet designation once they complete Pathways. Requirements

Bachelors of Science Nursing
RN License
1 Years of recent Med Surg Tele RN experience
Basic Life Support (BLS) or obtain with (30) thirty days of hire or transfer
A deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, as well as procedures.
Know nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines in your area.
Understand hospital procedures and rules.
Proficiency in medical terms, focusing on health, disease prevention, management, common meds, and their side effects.
Respect for medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights.
Exceptional communication skills, allowing for clear expression of thoughts both verbally and in writing.
Positive social skills to facilitate interactions with a diverse range of parties.
Excellent problem-solving capabilities, driving effective critical thinking.
Basic computer skills, encompassing areas such as Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email.

Responsibilities

Oversee patient care using a professional practice model.
Conduct patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses.
Secure patient travel.
Understand patient needs in healthcare.
Help patients and prevent issues.
Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies.
Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs.
Create, implement, and evaluate care plans.
Adjust plans to reach desired outcomes.
Build relationships, manage discomfort, and stay professional in therapeutic connections with patients and families.
Create care plans reflecting values to aid in resolving issues.
Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members, empowering them with knowledge for better healthcare choices.
Assess and document learning needs regularly.
Work with colleagues and community to create a care plan.
Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly.
Use different strategies for problem-solving with patients, families, and staff.
Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery.
