About The Position

This role provides for patient needs using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and supports the organization's mission. It involves the organization and supervision of care provided by supportive personnel and coordination with ancillary services. Key aspects include educating patients and their families about their condition and care plan, serving as a patient advocate, and providing care for patients with various medical and surgical conditions, including chronic illnesses and minor injuries.

Requirements

• ACLS required within 6 months for the Adult EDs and Free Standing EDs.
• PALS required within 1 year of hire for the Free Standing EDs and required within 6 months for WCH ED.

Responsibilities

• Provides for patient needs as recognized through use of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and the mission statement.
• Organization and supervision of care provided by supportive personnel.
• Coordination of care provided by ancillary services.
• Including patients and significant others (SO)/families in developing an individualized plan of care.
• Education of patients/SO/families to their disease process and plan of care.
• Serves as patient advocate and responsible for providing care to patients requiring treatment of any medical, surgical, or other condition, including chronic medical and minor injuries or illnesses.
