This is a full-time position available, primarily days, with 8-hour shifts. The RN will work in a busy Orthopaedic practice from newborn to geriatric aged patients. Responsibilities include direct care of ambulatory Orthopaedic patients, brace fitting, setting up and assisting with procedures, suture staple removal, medication administration, cast and splint application, patient and staff education, charge nurse duties, JC preparation and performance improvement activities. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, be able to multitask and lead a team providing optimal patient care and throughput. Able to represent the strong commitment with staff and patients.

Requirements

  • NYS license and minimum of two years’ experience is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in ambulatory care and/or Orthopaedics is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provision of competent direct patient care based on established standards.
  • Contributes to unit activities and supports enhancement of the care delivery system at the unit level.
  • Supports peers in the delivery of patient care services and assumes an expanded role which may include charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities.
  • Direct care of ambulatory Orthopaedic patients.
  • Brace fitting.
