About The Position

As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum. The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at West Allis Medical Center is a 16-bed unit providing care to critically ill patients with diagnoses including Sepsis, Stroke, Respiratory conditions, chronic Vent, Acute Kidney Injury, Pulmonary Emboli/Deep Vein Thrombosis, Diabetic Ketoacidosis, Substance Abuse along with many other comorbidities. This role requires mastering skills in pharmacology, pathophysiology, laboratory value interpretation and in-depth assessments of patients. It offers a supportive learning environment, team approach, and patient-centric care to optimize patient outcomes, with opportunities for shared governance and committee work at unit and site levels.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • At least 1 year of RN experience
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
