Registered Nurse (RN) – Med / Surg Observation
About The Position
Sentara is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Observation Unit at Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia. The 24-bed unit has a 6:1 RN-to-patient ratio and provides nurses the opportunity to support patients through recovery. The role includes assessing and admitting patients, performing rounding checks, administering medications, communicating with family members, and overseeing patients’ overall care. The position is full-time on the night shift, approximately 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. New graduates are welcome. Sentara describes opportunities to develop nursing skills in different specialties and pursue advancement into leadership or higher levels of care. Qualified candidates may be eligible for sign-on bonuses and a moving allowance.
Requirements
- Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS).
- RN diploma, Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited school.
