About The Position

We are now accepting applications for a qualified 10-Month Registered Nurse at Belmont University. This position is for a Staff, Exempt (Staff), Full-Time role within Student Health Services, working 37.5 hours per week. The purpose of this position is to provide professional out-patient nursing care and health services to students and employees on a full-time basis when demand is highest during the academic year. The role involves assisting students with university immunization and health requirements, participating in health and wellness programs, admitting patients, providing first aid and emergency care, performing CLIA waived tests, administering injections and TB tests, performing various medical procedures, completing electronic medical record documentation, and collaborating with the healthcare team and campus partners. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Current Tennessee license
CPR certification
Proficiency with Word and Excel programs, other software as needed.
Knowledge of HIPAA and FERPA.
Knowledge of basic first aid and CPR.
Ability to communicate effectively with constituents - students, University employees and outside service providers.
Enjoys working with college age students
Background check satisfactory to the University.

Responsibilities

Provide professional out-patient nursing care and health services to students and employees.
Assist students regarding university's immunization and health requirements.
Participate in various health and wellness programs, including student orientations, vaccine clinics, and wellness initiatives.
Admit patients to the clinic, including assessment of vital signs, current medications and allergies, medical history, and chief complaint.
Provide first aid, emergency care, or crisis intervention in accordance with state nursing laws and regulations and university protocols.
Perform CLIA waived tests (monospot, strep, flu, COVID-19, urinalysis, blood glucose) and collection/processing of send-out lab specimens.
Administer allergy shots, vaccines, and other injectables, including application and reading of TB skin tests and assisting with mass vaccine clinics.
Perform procedures within scope of license and clinic scope of service (e.g., wound care, ear irrigations, suture removal, initiation of intravenous therapy).
Complete documentation in electronic medical record in a timely manner and in compliance with standards.
Maintain ongoing communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare team and other campus partners.
Other duties as assigned.
