Responsible for the planning, delivery and management of direct patient care utilizing the nursing process and adhering to the standards of nursing practice. This role involves utilizing the Nursing Process for the delivery and management of patient’s care from Admission to Discharge, appropriate to the developmental age of the patient population. It includes performing patient assessment/reassessment, developing and coordinating individual plans of care including discharge planning, and directing, supervising, coordinating and evaluating nursing care within the assigned clinical setting. The nurse will delegate appropriately, document patient care, and develop, implement/coordinate and document Education Plans for patients/families. Ensuring quality and continuity of care through collaboration with other health care providers, administering medications, performing treatments, and operating equipment are key functions. The position also involves participating in Nursing Governance activities, assuming responsibility for professional growth, assisting in staff education and development, and participating in performance improvement initiatives. Standard Staffing Level Responsibilities include complying with departmental policies, attending meetings, demonstrating Quality Improvement in daily operations, complying with health and safety regulations, respecting diverse views, maintaining attendance, and performing other related duties.
