About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in Ambulatory Surgery will provide patient and family education consistently and appropriately. The Registered Nurse (RN) in Ambulatory Surgery will consistently identify patient/family learning needs and implements appropriate education utilizing written, and/or verbal audiovisual material. The Registered Nurse (RN) in Ambulatory Surgery will perform all basic skills required for nursing as described on unit-based competency record, policy and procedures and as taught in orientation and skills day including appropriately assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the patient's plan of care. The Registered Nurse (RN) in Ambulatory Surgery will provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles. Work with all members of the health care team to provide optimal care to the patient throughout their surgery center experience. Serve as the communication liaison to family and members of the operating team. Record all care information concisely, accurately, and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format with computer software application appropriate to position. Prep operating/procedure room for patient/procedure.

Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing ADN Diploma, BSN, or MSN degree acceptable
  • Current State of Wisconsin Nursing licensure or permit required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR or the ability to obtain within three (3) months of hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or the ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire
