About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care for anesthetized patients during the immediate post-operative or post-procedural period in the UAB St. Vincent's East Surgery Recovery Room. The role follows aseptic sterile technique according to AORN/ASPAN standards, evaluates patient responses to treatments and interventions, manages pain, and anticipates case-specific needs based on the procedures performed and pathophysiology. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with some call required. This is a PRN days position.

Requirements

• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing before the hire date or job transfer date.
• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program.
• Professional licensure at the time of hire.
• One year of nursing experience.
• BLS Provider certification obtained within 30 days of the hire date or job transfer date; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Advanced Life Support certification obtained within 180 days of the hire date or job transfer date; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
