About The Position

This position has an Incentive Bonus. Registered Nurses are eligible for an incentive bonus up to $30,000 for this full time position. In addition to the incentive bonus, new teammates at ECU Health are eligible for robust benefits packages, paid time off, and tuition reimbursement. Candidates must have at least 1 year of RN experience, this position is not for new graduates. The PICU at James and Connie Maynard Hospital is a 12- bed intensive care unit. The staffing ratio is ideally 1:1, or 1:2 depending on the acuity of the patients. Our patient population consists of actual or threatened respiratory failure, sever or unstable cardiovascular disease, neurologic disorders, severe metabolic disturbances, sepsis/poisonings, critically injured pediatric trauma victims, hematologic or oncologic disease with actual life-threatening complications and patients needing ECMO or CRRT. Responsible for the provision and coordination of nursing care to include the collection and analysis of assessment data, identification of expected outcomes and development of plan of care in collaboration with the patient/family and other interdisciplinary team members. Identifies interventions to attain expected outcomes, implements the interventions identified in the plan of care, evaluates the progress of the patient/family toward attainment of outcomes, and documents the process. This care includes sensitivity to age specific and unique needs of the patient/family. Promotes and evaluates the effective functioning of the health care team. Collaborates with health care team members to meet the identified needs of the patient/family throughout the episode of care. Delegates tasks and activities as appropriate and governed by NC Nurse Practice Act.

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience is required.
  • Current NC RN license or licensure to practice in a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state Health Care Provider is required.
  • America Heart Association Basic Life Support is required.
