About The Position

The Registered Nurse will work in a post-anesthesia care unit (PACU), supporting patients as they recover following surgical procedures. This is a 13-week contract assignment with 40 guaranteed hours per week and an ASAP start. The schedule is an 8-hour day shift, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Weekend and holiday responsibilities are associated with on-call coverage, with an on-call rotation approximately every sixth to seventh weekend. During low census, the nurse may be placed on call; callback pay applies, with a two-hour minimum if called back. Orientation-week hours are not guaranteed.

Candidates must live outside the 50-mile radius requirement. During flu season, travelers who decline flu and COVID vaccination must wear a mask at all times in accordance with facility policy.

Requirements

• Live outside the 50-mile radius requirement.
• Hold a valid Wisconsin RN license.
• Hold BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Have at least 2 years of PACU experience.
• Be proficient in Epic charting.
• Have an Associate Degree or certificate.
• Demonstrate strong time management, adaptability, resilience, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.

Responsibilities

• Support patient recovery following surgical procedures in a post-anesthesia care setting.
• Participate in weekend and holiday on-call coverage, approximately every sixth to seventh weekend.
• Be available for on-call placement during low-census periods and callback if needed.
