About The Position

Amedisys is hiring a PRN Registered Nurse for home health care in the Sarasota territory. The role coordinates and oversees patients’ home care, collaborates with care teams on plans of care, and provides clinical services and education to patients and families. Compensation is a $47.95–$59.94 base rate under a pay-per-visit model. The position requires recent home health experience and a Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse screening.

Requirements

• One year of clinical experience as a registered nurse; candidates with less than one year must be approved by the VP of Clinical.
• Current RN license specific to the state(s) assigned for work.
• At least six months of home health experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and liability insurance.
• Ability to assess patient status and identify requirements related to age-specific needs.
• Familiarity with general computer use and functions, including usernames and passwords, internet, email, desktop navigation, programs, files and windows, navigation buttons and toolbars, online HR services, and online training programs.
• Candidates with less than six months of clinical RN experience must participate in the RN Intern program.
• Must complete a background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee all aspects of patients’ home care.
• Collaborate with patient care teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Educate families about the patient’s condition, needs, and care.
• Perform head-to-toe physical assessments.
• Check vital signs and manage medications.
• Give injections and provide IV therapy or tube feedings.
• Administer and maintain catheters.
• Complete documentation accurately and on time.
• Supervise LPNs and HHAs.
• Regularly communicate patient progress to the clinical manager, physician, and care team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
