About The Position

Sentara RMH Medical Center is now hiring a Registered Nurse for the Progressive Care unit. This position is ideal for candidates who have experience or interest in working in a high acuity unit. Patient population includes pain, shortness of breath, fatigue, numbness, and problems with sleep. Assists families with medical decisions by providing better understanding of the medical condition and choices for medical care. Seeking strong customer service and great work ethic. Sign on bonus up to $20,000 offered plus relocation assistance.

Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree - Nursing (Required)
  • Registered Nurse (Required)
  • Previous acute care experience (Preferred)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience or interest in working in a high acuity unit.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Great work ethic.

Responsibilities

  • Performing a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process.
  • Assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation.
  • Ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
  • Possessing clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
