About The Position
Competent clinical practitioner assisting individuals, groups and families with health-care needs ranging from uncomplicated to complex and rapidly changing status. Demonstrates a caring approach which reflects and incorporates expertise.
Requirements
- 2 yrs exp in Acute Psych or Comm. Mental Health nursing or a combo of the two.
- Exp in the last 5 years in psychiatric assessment & intervention required.
- Exp in the last 5 yrs with acute and chronic psychiatric disorders.
- Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing (BPN).
- Psychiatric Nursing diploma is acceptable.
- Nursing diploma is acceptable.
- Basic CPR, ASSIST preferred.
- Bachelor of Nursing is acceptable.
- Advanced - Assessment skills.
- Advanced - Organizational skills.
- Advanced - Planning skills.
- Advanced - Interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge in mental health and mental illness across life cycle.
- Knowledge in mental health assessment systems.
- Knowledge of human growth, development and human behavior.
- Knowledge in applicable health promotion and health prevention initiatives.
- Knowledge in client psychosocial living needs and interventions.
- Knowledge of psychopathology and the family life cycle and systems theory.
- Knowledge of local human service organizations, resources & referral procedures.
- Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS).
- Registered/eligible with College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of SK - CRPNS.
Nice To Haves
- Basic CPR, ASSIST preferred.
