About The Position

The Registered Nurse works under the direction of the Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing, as applicable. The role assesses, plans, implements, and executes delivery of resident care and directs activities to provide quality service and positive resident outcomes. The nurse maintains close contact with residents, families, and staff while coordinating nursing services with other disciplines.

Requirements

• Virginia Registered Nurse (RN) license from the Virginia Department of Health Professions upon hire.
• CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute within 30 days.
• At least 6 months of long-term care (LTC) experience.

Nice To Haves

• 2 years of LPN experience in a long-term care (LTC) or assisted living (AL) setting.
• 1 year of RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Assign duties to professional and non-professional staff according to education, training, policy, and resident need.
• Engage team members to support optimal performance and address performance as needed to ensure quality resident care.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate resident plans of care.
• Communicate plans of care to providers, residents, families, and staff.
• Identify changes in resident condition and document appropriately following the Interact process.
• Follow through consistently to support positive resident outcomes, using good judgment and specialized skills.
• Manage a typical nursing unit.
• Allow resident choices within limits of capability while considering safety and dignity, and follow facility policies and procedures concerning resident privacy and dignity.
• Coordinate nursing services with other disciplines and maintain contact with residents, families, and staff.
