About The Position

Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, VA is seeking a Night Shift Registered Nurse for the Inpatient Surgery Unit. This Medical-Surgical Unit is a 21-bed facility that sees a variety of patients, making it an ideal environment for both new graduates and experienced nurses. The unit offers a collaborative and supportive atmosphere with dedicated preceptors and unit coordinators to ensure quality patient care. Sentara Obici Hospital is a certified stroke center and a Magnet hospital, recognized for excellence in patient care.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
• Registered nursing License (Required)
• Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing License.
• BLS required within 90 days of hire
• None required (for experience)
• 1 year of acute care (preferred)
• Previous healthcare experience (preferred)

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)
• Students in the process of completing an accredited nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Perform a competent level of nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching and health promotion, and evaluation).
• Adhere to standards of professional performance including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
• Utilize clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards required by specific clinical areas.
