Responsible for providing professional nursing care for SIH patients. This includes assessing patients' mental, physical, and spiritual needs, establishing a compassionate environment to provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and families. The role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating an individual plan of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary health care team. Additionally, the nurse will provide health teaching and counseling to promote optimal patient health, utilize clinical judgment and critical thinking to manage changes in patient condition, and ensure complete, accurate, and timely documentation in patient medical records. The position also contributes to the development of policies and procedures supporting patient safety and quality of care, supervises and delegates responsibilities to licensed practical nurses and/or unlicensed assistants, serves as a patient advocate through communication and collaboration with other health professionals, and completes required education, competencies, and licensure. The nurse may also be required to float to other SIH nursing units within their competency level.
