About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week contract opportunity in the Emergency Department in Grand Forks, North Dakota. The RN will provide direct emergency nursing care to patients across varying ages and acuity levels while coordinating care with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

The schedule is three 12-hour night shifts per week, typically 5:00 PM–5:00 AM, with 36 guaranteed hours per week. Every-other-weekend work and holiday rotation are required. Weekend block scheduling may be available but is not guaranteed.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of recent Emergency Department Registered Nurse experience.
• Current North Dakota Registered Nurse license or active compact RN license required before start.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Current NIHSS and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certifications.
• Ability to work three 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend, and holiday rotation.

Responsibilities

• Assess emergency department patients, identify clinical priorities, and develop individualized nursing plans of care.
• Recognize early signs of patient deterioration and initiate appropriate emergency interventions and escalation of care.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments while reassessing symptoms, pain, and patient response.
• Coordinate patient care with physicians and interdisciplinary team members while maintaining accurate clinical documentation.
• Provide patient and family education, discharge planning, and appropriate delegation of nursing interventions within scope of practice.
