About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides professional care and assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients during a designated time frame. The nurse uses the nursing process to provide care in collaboration with other health care team members. This per diem position is in the Emergency Department at New Milford Hospital, part of the Danbury Hospital Campus. The schedule includes variable shifts between 7:00 p.m. and 7:30 a.m.; the listed work schedule is Day/Eve, 8- and 12-hour shifts. The position is non-exempt and pays $58.50 per hour.

Requirements

Current State of Connecticut RN license.
BLS certification.
At least 1 year of current RN Emergency Department experience.
Associate-level degree.

Nice To Haves

Nursing certification.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Responsibilities

Perform ongoing, systematic assessments focused on patients’ physiologic, psychological, and cognitive status.
Develop a goal-directed plan of care, prioritized according to nursing diagnoses and patient outcomes.
Implement care knowledgeably, skillfully, consistently, and continuously.
Prioritize patient care according to essential patient needs and available resources.
Evaluate the effectiveness of care and patients’ progress toward outcomes.
Identify patients’ and significant others’ learning needs and implement appropriate measures to address them.
Coordinate interdisciplinary functions.
Fulfill compliance responsibilities related to the position.
Perform other duties as assigned.
