Registered Nurse, Cardiac Care Unit
About The Position
Sentara is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Care Unit, 2 West, at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The 34-bed medical unit has a primary cardiac focus and cares for patients with congestive heart failure, angina, STEMI/NSTEMI, and arrhythmias. Patients may be admitted after cardiac catheterizations, pacemaker insertions, ablations, and cardioversions. The unit’s nurses and patient care technicians work collaboratively to provide excellent patient care and patient satisfaction. The Registered Nurse’s duties include assessing and admitting patients, performing rounding checks, administering medications, communicating with family members, and providing overall care for assigned patients. New graduates are welcome. Full-time and part-time night positions are available. The posting states that new graduate RNs with less than one year of experience start at $36.00 per hour; the base pay range for full-time employment is $41.93–$61.01 per hour. Additional compensation may include shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonuses.
Requirements
- Virginia or Compact Multi-State Registered Nursing License in good standing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- RN diploma, ASN, BSN, or MSN from an accredited school.
Responsibilities
- Assess and admit patients.
