About The Position

This is a PRN opportunity for an experienced ER Registered Nurse interested in our Pee Dee Division Emergency Room Mobile Float Pool. The role involves providing nursing care to patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation). The nurse will direct and lead other assigned team members and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with nursing standards of care and practice. Patient/family centered care will be provided, focusing on physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs. This includes assessment, development of nursing diagnoses, outcome identification, planning, implementation of interventions, coordination of care, health teaching and promotion, and evaluation of goals and interventions consistent with MUSC policies. A safe, therapeutic, and healing environment will be maintained through ensuring patient privacy and responsive, respectful, accepting, and professional behavior. The nurse will demonstrate the ability to function in a professional setting through active participation in a professional practice model, including shared governance, adherence to standards of care, peer review, and professional development. Coordination of effective and efficient delivery of patient care services through care management principles, identifying clinical priorities, and initiating action to improve patient outcomes is also a key aspect. The role also emphasizes active participation in shared governance, promotion of a healthy work environment, and acceptance of personal responsibility for professional growth.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree
  • A minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse required.
  • Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
