RN Observation Unit FT Days
About The Position
Baptist Health Floyd is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Emergency Department Observation Unit. This full-time, benefit-eligible role provides direct, comprehensive nursing care from patient admission through discharge. The RN works as an on-shift team member, providing care that meets the needs of patients, families, and coworkers. The Observation Unit is a 29-bed unit affiliated with the Emergency Department. It cares for patients expected to remain in the hospital for less than 24 hours, including patients with chest pain, cardiac arrhythmias, heart catheterizations, laparoscopic cholecystectomies, UTIs, and DVTs. A provider is staffed on the unit from 7 AM to 5 PM every day to support patient care. The schedule is three 12-hour day shifts per week, from 7 AM to 7 PM, rotating every fourth weekend, with holidays as required. New graduate RNs are welcome. The role is based at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Indiana. Experienced external applicants may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $25,000.
Requirements
- Current Indiana or compact-state RN license.
- BLS for healthcare providers.
- ACLS for healthcare providers, to be obtained within 12 months of hire.
