About The Position
Action Staffing Solutions Inc. is seeking experienced and compassionate Registered Nurses to join their team in correctional healthcare settings across Colorado. This role involves providing skilled nursing care within a correctional facility to incarcerated inmates, offering a unique opportunity to care for underserved populations in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Requirements
- One full year of experience as a Registered Nurse
- Unencumbered nursing license for Colorado, or Compact status
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be able to successfully complete a thorough, law-enforcement run background check
- Must be able to physically complete a required, four-day self-defense course
- Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive medical documentation.
- Provide standardized patient education in accordance with established nursing guidelines.
- Transcribe and communicate medical orders during shift changes.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient information.
- Deliver direct patient care, including physical treatments and medication administration (PO, IM, IV, SQ, SL).
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to implement and support individualized treatment plans.
- Apply infection control practices and crisis intervention techniques.
- Conduct patient interviews, triage assessments, and respond to urgent and emergent situations.
- Assist physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners with minor medical and surgical procedures.
- Monitor, order, and restock medications and medical supplies as needed.
- Observe and report patients’ physical and emotional conditions, including responses to medications and treatments.
- Perform comprehensive physical and behavioral health assessments using established nursing protocols.
- Promote and uphold a safe and secure clinical environment, including careful control of medications, sharps, instruments, and other sensitive medical items.
- Operate clinical equipment appropriate to the assigned unit.
- Maintain knowledge of all applicable life safety policies and procedures.
- Report safety or security concerns promptly through established documentation channels.
