About The Position
This is a full-time position with an annual salary range of $83,614 - $107,023. The role involves providing nursing care within adult correctional institutions. This includes utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating institutional patients according to standards of practice. Services provided include 24-hour nursing care, telemedicine, chronic care clinics, sick call screenings/triage, medication administration, patient education, and basic life support/emergency care. All pertinent information must be documented in the health record while practicing confidentiality and interfacing with other departments as needed. Registered Nurses are expected to delegate tasks/workload and work hours, days, and locations as assigned. They must be capable and available to provide coverage as needed to meet institutional needs. The position emphasizes providing evidence-based nursing care and promoting continued competence through education/certification, with a focus on correctional nursing. Assignments to other duties or locations may be necessary to meet the clinical and administrative needs of the Department.
Requirements
- Possess and maintain valid unrestricted Virginia RN license (if you are a recent graduate of a nursing program in VA and not yet licensed, NCLEX-RN Exam must be scheduled at time of application)
- Certified Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers with current certification through American. Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) is required upon hire

Responsibilities
