About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides, promotes, and maintains quality patient care through education, standards of practice, professional growth, and collaboration with multidisciplinary healthcare providers. The role emphasizes compassionate communication and patient and family engagement, including clear updates about procedures and care plans, bedside handoffs, and confirmation of understanding. The RN performs patient interventions proficiently and demonstrates age-specific competency for the population served.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Nursing.
• Previous clinical experience is reviewed for acceptability.
• Valid permanent multi-state RN license from the state of residence.
• Applicants holding an RN license from another Compact state must apply for and obtain a multi-state RN license from their state of residence within 30 days.
• American Heart Association BLS CPR certification, to be obtained within 7 days of hire.
• CPI certification within orientation.

Nice To Haves

• Psychiatric or mental health nursing experience.
• RN-C certification.

Responsibilities

• Use AIDET communication principles (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You) during patient and family interactions.
• Participate in bedside handoff using SBAR, involving patients and families in the plan of care when appropriate.
• Proactively communicate delays, procedures, and changes in the plan of care, setting clear expectations and providing timely updates.
• Use Teach Back to confirm patient and family understanding of medications, treatments, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
• Perform patient interventions completely and proficiently and demonstrate age-specific competency for the population served.
• Perform related duties as required.
