About The Position

Baylor Scott & White McLane Children’s is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse to support the Special Procedures Unit (SPU). This role provides pre‑procedure and intra‑procedure nursing care and documentation for pediatric patients undergoing a variety of procedures, including GI endoscopy/colonoscopy, bronchoscopy, interventional radiology, sedated MRI and radiology procedures, minor surgeries, invasive hem/onc procedures, PICC line placements, dental procedures, and hearing tests. As an Interventional Radiology RN, use nursing expertise to deliver patient care with the healthcare team. Tasks include evaluating health, identifying issues, creating care plans, and tracking treatment responses. Help patients navigate their healthcare safely. Use knowledge of needs to prevent issues. Prioritizing patient and family needs is crucial. Responsibilities involve developing, implementing, and evaluating nursing care plans. Adjust as needed. Making a safe place for patients, families, staff is vital. This includes maintaining confidentiality and voicing patient concerns when necessary. The successful candidate will manage learning for patients and families. They will help nursing staff grow. Knowledge sharing in the health care team and community is also promoted. The perfect candidate partners effectively with team members and the community to implement a cohesive care plan. The candidate must recognize limited resources and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care. Encourage professional growth by creating a positive work environment. Support peers' professional development. Participation in continued education and community service is valued.

Requirements

  • Current RN license
  • 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience (pediatrics preferred)
  • Graduate of an Accredited Program or (2) years of work experience above the minimum qualification
  • The applicant's major field of study should be Nursing.
  • Candidates must be Registered Nurses(RN).
  • A (BLS) Basic Life Support certification is required or must obtain within (30) thirty days of hire
