About The Position

Baptist Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Behavioral Health Unit. This is a full-time night shift opportunity. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing for patient needs through the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation), the mission statement, and the supervision of care provided by supportive personnel and coordination of care with ancillary services. This includes involving patients and their families in developing an individualized plan of care, educating them about their disease process and plan of care, and serving as a patient advocate. The role involves providing care to patients requiring treatment for any medical, surgical, or other condition, including chronic medical conditions and minor injuries or illnesses.

Requirements

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
  • Licensed Registered Nurse Required
  • ACLS Required within 6 months for Adult ED’s
  • PALS required within one year of hire
  • This position is designated as requiring a level II Background (A detailed fingerprint-based screening for positions of trust that check state (FDLE) and national (FBI) criminal history) and will undergo screening as a condition of employment and continued employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provides for patient needs as recognized through use of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and the mission statement
  • Organization and supervision of care provided by supportive personnel
  • Coordination of care provided by ancillary services
  • Including patients and significant others (SO)/families in developing an individualized plan of care
  • Education of patients/SO/families to their disease process and plan of care
  • Serves as patient advocate and responsible for providing care to patients requiring treatment of any medical, surgical, or other condition, including chronic medical and minor injuries or illnesses.
