About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. This role utilizes evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, compassion, and communication skills while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum. The position is located in a 25-bed Respiratory Intermediate Care Unit that provides nursing care to a wide scope of diverse patient populations requiring telemetry monitoring related to medical, surgical or cardiac-related issues or also requiring ventilator support. The hospital is a Magnet-designated, level 1 trauma, teaching hospital with an excellent nursing culture and exposure to patients with diverse and complex medical issues, offering opportunities for skill and knowledge growth.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • ACLS within 6 months of hire
  • 1 year minimum of Medical/Surgical nursing experience
  • Vent experience highly desired and required for day shift
