About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. The nurse performs care-plan interventions, documents and monitors patient condition, collaborates with the care team, and supports patients and families throughout care. The role reports to the Director or Manager of Department. This is a PRN position with Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield, Kentucky.

Requirements

• RN license required.
• Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience preferred.
• Handle With Care (HWC) preferred.
• ASLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Document patient care and monitor patient condition, communicating with the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Coordinate patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
• Provide patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
• Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
• Participate in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
