As a Registered Nurse (RN) joining our team, you are embracing a vital mission dedicated to making communities healthier. Our 10-room surgical suite supports a wide range of specialties with 17 surgeons utilizing block time. Nurses have the opportunity to circulate and assist in procedures across Orthopedics, General Surgery, OB/GYN, Urology, ENT, Spine, and Pulmonary. We are proud to utilize advanced technology, including Mako and da Vinci robotic systems. With many nurses on the unit having 15+ years of experience, mentorship and hands-on training are readily available. Our strong multidisciplinary teamwork sets us apart, with a shared goal of delivering safe, high-quality, compassionate care close to home.

Requirements

  • Current RN VA or compact state license
  • Associate’s degree in nursing

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support
  • Experience in clinical area preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
  • Documents patient care provided.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Prepares, positions, and transports patients for procedures.
  • Prepares surgical and endoscopy suites with solutions, scopes, equipment, and supplies.
  • Validates proper reprocessing of scopes for every procedure.
  • Assesses and cares for patients throughout the perioperative process, including pre-procedure and post-procedure care.
  • Operates specialized equipment and maintains a safe environment.
  • Accounts for use of supplies during surgical/endoscopy procedures.
  • Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
  • Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances throughout the perioperative process.
  • Assists patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
  • Provide direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
