Registered Nurse (RN) Observation Unit
About The Position
St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Observation unit at its Florence, Kentucky hospital. The licensed registered nurse provides and is accountable for evidence-based clinical care to designated patients using the nursing process: assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care in accordance with established ethical and cultural codes and nursing practice standards. The nurse works collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to achieve patient outcomes and delegates tasks appropriately to licensed and unlicensed healthcare team members. The role calls for respectful, dignified, kind, and empathetic interactions with patients, families, visitors, and colleagues, regardless of cultural background. This is a full-time position scheduled for 36 hours per week on the day shift, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Hold a license to practice nursing in the state where the work is performed.
- If eligible, hold a Compact (multi-state) license in the primary state of residence.
- Meet contact-hour requirements for licensure, including all state-required courses.
- Have an educational focus that supports nursing practice in the assigned clinical area.
- Demonstrate knowledge of nursing theory, clinical practice standards, procedures, and policies.
- Demonstrate competence in mathematical calculations associated with medication administration.
- Be competent to independently perform safe nursing skills and procedures.
- Successfully complete preceptorship and orientation to the facility and clinical area.
- Be able to critically think and problem solve in routine and emergency situations.
