About The Position

A registered nurse provides highly professional and technical nursing care to assigned patients, delivering direct and indirect care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The nurse supports Methodist Health System’s mission, vision, values, and strategic goals. This role is at Methodist Dallas Medical Center, a 595-bed acute care teaching and referral hospital in Dallas.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.
• Current license to practice nursing in Texas or eligibility to obtain one.
• At least 12 months of RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Use communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills to support a cooperative work environment and meet general hospital standards.
• Take responsibility for the nursing components of patient, family, and significant-other education.
• Communicate with the care team, coworkers, patients, and family members, and evaluate their understanding of information.
• Create and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients, self, coworkers, and the facility.
• Ensure patient information is communicated in writing completely, accurately, and in a timely manner.
• Provide a therapeutic environment through safe, accurate, and timely medication and IV administration.
• Take personal responsibility and initiative for performance and professional growth and development.
• Use the nursing process to provide quality patient care throughout the episode of care.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
