About The Position

This role provides for patient needs using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and upholds the mission statement. It involves the organization and supervision of care provided by supportive personnel and the coordination of care with ancillary services. Key aspects include involving patients and their families in developing individualized care plans, educating patients and families about their conditions and care plans, and serving as a patient advocate. The nurse is responsible for providing care to patients with any medical, surgical, or other condition, including chronic illnesses and minor injuries or illnesses.

Requirements

• Certification- ACLS required within 6 months for the Adult EDs and Free Standing EDs
• PALS required within 1 year of hire for the Free Standing EDs and required within 6 months for WCH ED

Responsibilities

• Provides for patient needs as recognized through use of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and the mission statement
• Organization and supervision of care provided by supportive personnel
• Coordination of care provided by ancillary services
• Including patients and significant others (SO)/families in developing an individualized plan of care
• Education of patients/SO/families to their disease process and plan of care
• Serves as patient advocate and responsible for providing care to patients requiring treatment of any medical, surgical, or other condition, including chronic medical and minor injuries or illnesses
