Registered Nurse (CCCA) Full Time
About The Position
The Commonwealth Center for Children and Adolescents (CCCA) is seeking experienced nurses to fill the RN II position. CCCA is a children's psychiatric hospital dedicated to serving youth by providing high-quality psychiatric diagnostic, evaluation, and treatment services. The mission of the CCCA Nursing Department is to skillfully assess children for medical and mental health concerns during acute psychiatric care. Registered Nurses are responsible for reporting accurate patient information to psychiatrists, who will then direct the appropriate medication and treatment regimens.
Requirements
- Effective communication both verbal & written.
- Competent with TOVA, CPR and knowledge of lab values for children & adolescents.
- Basic computer skills.
- Walking and/or standing for up to eight (8) hours or more.
- Bending & lifting.
- Ability to use TOVA techniques.
- May be exposed to aggressive patients.

Responsibilities
- Assess children for medical and mental health concerns when admitted for acute psychiatric care.
- Report accurate information to the psychiatrist regarding appropriate medication and treatment regimes for patients.
- Participate in an interdisciplinary team.
- Lead educational groups.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care utilizing knowledge of pharmacology, psychiatric disorders, and the physical, psychological, and social needs of the psychiatric adolescent or child.
- Act as a resource person to communicate knowledge of the nursing process to other disciplines, community groups, and schools of nursing.
- Work scheduled shifts and overtime hours or shifts as required.
