Registered Nurse - Cardiac Tele
About The Position
The Registered Nurse will work on a telemetry unit serving adult and geriatric patients. The unit treats patients with conditions including CHF, MI and chest pain (pre- and post-catheterization), dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), hypo- and hypertension, pleural effusion, sepsis, PE/DVT, and vascular issues. The unit has 36 rooms and an average daily census of 35, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4–5. RNs are expected to perform their own vital sign and blood glucose checks. The nurse may float within the facility and scope of practice as needed. The role includes working every other weekend unless otherwise specified, and holiday work is determined by the number of major holidays falling during the assignment. There are no call requirements. Non-billable orientation hours depend on contract length. Full compliance is required to start on time; otherwise, the start may be pushed back two weeks because of the bi-weekly orientation schedule.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience; first-time travelers are accepted.
- BLS certification required.
- ACLS certification required.
- Epic experience/system proficiency required.
Nice To Haves
- NIH certification preferred.
