About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care at the Athens-Clarke County Jail in a correctional healthcare setting. Duties include patient assessments, medication administration, treatments, and emergency response. The RN collaborates with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans while complying with facility policies, state regulations, and infection control standards. The role also involves educating patients about health conditions, monitoring their progress, and contributing to a safe and effective healthcare environment.

Requirements

• Hold a current, valid state license.
• Have 1–3 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
• Hold an active CPR/BLS certificate approved under American Heart Association or American Red Cross guidelines.
• Demonstrate effective time management, adherence to protocols, and the ability to deliver high-quality service in a fast-paced, structured environment.

• Experience in correctional healthcare or a similar environment.
• Experience in direct patient care or administrative support in a regulated environment.
• Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, policies, and procedures related to correctional settings.
