About The Position

Inova Fairfax Hospital is looking for an experienced RN to join the PCICU team within Inova's L.J. Murphy Children’s Hospital. This position is Night Shift 7:00pm-7:00am. Sign-on bonus and relocation bonus. At Inova, the Pediatric Cardiac ICU serves the needs of critically ill infants, children, and adolescents who require specialized heart care. This specialized unit is staffed by highly skilled nurses and a team of intensivists from multiple subspecialties, including anesthesiology, pediatric cardiology, pediatric heart surgery, neonatology (newborn care), cardiac critical care, and pulmonology (lung care). The unit is expanding to include transplant and device management. Our nationally recognized, 226-bed Inova Children’s Hospital houses comprehensive medical services and specialists who focus on the unique treatment of younger patients. Inova Children's Hospital is an award-winning, full-service children’s hospital devoted to the healthcare of infants, children and adolescents in the Northern Virginia area.

Requirements

• Minimum of one year of RN clinical experience in a Critical Care setting or completion of a critical care fellowship.
• BSN or ADN required. If RN has an ADN, must complete BSN within 5 years of state date.
• BLS (American Heart Association) required.
• RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a RN.

Nice To Haves

• 1 - 2 years of Pediatric Cardiac ICU, PICU or CVICU experience preferred.
• PALS (American Heart Association) w/in 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• The Registered Nurse provides knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination through an understanding of patients, families, nurses and healthcare delivery teams.
• Consistently provides safe and therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way while incorporating differences into the provision of care and conducting all patient care in a patient/family centered manner.
• Integrates knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum, to include patient and family education.
• Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others while having respect for and an understanding of other clinical disciplines.
• Determines processes for delivery of care from direct patient/family communication, technology and other healthcare team member collaboration.
