About The Position

The NICU Registered Nurse provides professional, compassionate nursing care to neonates in a Level III NICU. The role coordinates care planning with the multidisciplinary team and provides individualized, age-specific, direct bedside nursing care based on the nursing process and patient needs. The RN systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice to support optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of current hospital-based acute care RN experience in a NICU.
• Nursing degree from an accredited nursing school.
• Current RN license in the State of Arizona or a compact license.
• CPR certification.
• NRP certification required upon completion of orientation.
• ACLS certification as applicable by facility or department.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of Level III NICU experience, including care of infants requiring conventional ventilators, HFOV, central lines, and therapeutic hypothermia.
• BSN.
• Specialty certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based care to critically ill infants.
• Act as a clinical leader by assessing, planning, delegating, and using independent judgment to direct other healthcare team members.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other disciplines to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Participate in hourly rounding and follow safety guidelines and best practices.
• Supervise and mentor other members of the healthcare team.
