About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking Registered Nurses to join their team at Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple, Texas. This position is for their Medical Telemetry Unit, a 38-bed unit focused on providing direct and individualized care for a varied medical/telemetry population. The unit offers learning opportunities with a full spectrum of medical diagnoses and comorbidities, and emphasizes a supportive environment with flexible scheduling and work/life balance.

Requirements

• Graduate of RN School of Nursing
• ADN required
• Must be licensed to practice professional nursing by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners
• A degree from a recognized nursing program or two years of relevant work experience
• A minimum of (1) one year's experience in the field of nursing
• A valid Registered Nurse license
• The ability to obtain a Basic Life Support certification within the first 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Providing direct and individualized care to patients on the Medical Telemetry Unit.
• Caring for patients with conditions such as sepsis, pulmonary conditions, respiratory distress, chest pain, infection, and those requiring isolation.
• Managing patients requiring skin and wound care, scopes, thoracentesis, lumbar puncture, central line placement, paracentesis, angio-cath, pacemaker insertions, and chest tubes.
• Performing enteral feeding tube insertion and maintenance.
• Monitoring patients with cardiac monitoring needs, GI abnormalities, trach care, and genitourinary abnormalities.
