About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides safe, direct patient care in the Telemetry Unit using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The role includes guiding patient and family teaching and directing the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care. The nurse is accountable for care delivered to assigned patients and communicates with physicians about changes in clinical condition, cardiac monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptoms. The nurse must respond quickly and accurately to changes in a patient’s condition or response to treatment.

This is a full-time position at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, Illinois. The schedule is three 12-hour night shifts, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. A sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates; eligibility and payout terms apply and will be discussed during the interview process.

Requirements

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current.

Nice To Haves

• Previous acute care hospital experience.
• Ventilator management experience.
• Medical-Surgical Nurse-Board Certified (RN-BC) or similar certification.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Guide patient and family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Telemetry Unit.
• Remain accountable for care given to assigned patients.
• Communicate with physicians about changes in patients’ clinical conditions, including cardiac monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptoms.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.
