About The Position

Beloit Health System is growing its Family Care Center team at Beloit Memorial Hospital and is seeking a compassionate, patient-focused Registered Nurse (RN) to join them in providing exceptional care to mothers, newborns, children, and families. In this role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to mothers, newborns, and pediatric patients throughout the birthing and recovery journey. From supporting families during labor and delivery to caring for newborns and children, you'll help create a positive and compassionate experience during some of life's most memorable milestones.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. ADN, Diploma, BSN, or MSN accepted.
  • Current Wisconsin RN license, Compact RN license, or temporary permit required. Nurses holding a Compact License must apply for Wisconsin licensure within 30 days of hire.
  • CPR certification required within 3 months of hire.
  • When scheduled for on-call coverage, must be able to arrive at the Family Care Center within 30 minutes of being called in.

Nice To Haves

  • One to two years of Labor & Delivery, Mother-Baby, Pediatric, or Medical-Surgical nursing experience preferred.
  • NRP, PALS, and Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certifications required within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor maternal and fetal well-being during labor and delivery, including fetal heart rate and maternal status assessments.
  • Provide compassionate care and support to laboring mothers, including pain management and comfort measures.
  • Assist physicians and providers during labor and delivery procedures.
  • Deliver postpartum care to mothers and newborns, including newborn assessments and education.
  • Administer IV medications and treatments while monitoring patient responses and condition changes.
  • Accurately document patient care and clinical observations in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
  • Educate patients and families regarding care, treatments, recovery, and wellness.
  • Prioritize patient care needs and coordinate services based on patient acuity.
  • Maintain patient safety and adhere to infection prevention, isolation, and bloodborne pathogen protocols.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and unit-based competencies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
