About The Position

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for its Oncology and Hematology Clinic at the Phillips Cancer Center in Charlottesville, Virginia. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates. The Oncology Clinic RN supports six physicians and three advanced practice providers. Duties include rooming patients, taking vital signs, placing IVs, accessing ports, and performing phlebotomy. The nurse also works with providers to coordinate care for oncology patients and to develop, participate in, and monitor multidisciplinary services. The clinic sees approximately 80–90 patients per day, and the role is expanding to include additional care-coordination duties. The clinic team provides care involving chemotherapy, biotherapy, hormonal therapy, and targeted therapy, as well as supportive therapies to reduce or prevent anticipated treatment side effects. An on-site infusion center provides intravenous infusions and therapeutic injections. In the physician practice and ambulatory clinic setting, the nurse assesses and triages patients, assists with procedures and examinations, administers medications and immunizations, and provides education and care coordination. The role includes managing triage, follow-up, and communication between visits; coordinating with physicians and office staff; documenting care in the electronic health record; supporting population health outreach; and helping maintain safe, efficient clinic operations. The posting notes that Sentara Martha Jefferson has an RN turnover rate below 12.6%, the hospital's patient satisfaction scores are highest in the system, and its Foundation education assistance program offers up to $32,500. Free parking and a free hospital gym are also available. The position's stated full-time base-pay range is $41.93–$61.01 per hour.
