About The Position

Sentara Emergency Department/Ambulatory Port Warwick is hiring a Registered Nurse. This position's primary duties include assessing/admitting patients, rounding checks, giving medications, talking with family members, and being responsible for the overall care of your patients. The Emergency Department/Ambulatory team works in a fast-paced environment with high energy and positivity, treating patients of all ages from pediatric to geriatric. ED Techs are utilized to assist with supportive duties. Sentara offers a Nurse Residency Program for new graduate RNs and a specialized 18-20 week ED orientation. The 6-month Nurse Residency program is designed for new graduate RNs with less than one year of experience and combines practical skills with hands-on training, professional development, and mentoring.

Requirements

Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire
RN-Associate’s Degree, or RN-Bachelor’s Degree, or RN-Diploma, or RN-Master’s Degree
Experienced and new graduate RNs
Less than one year experience (for Nurse Residency Program)
