About The Position

Humber River Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to work in their Emergency Department. They offer a unique training opportunity for Registered Nurses with Acute experience. Requirements

  • Current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing
  • Minimum 3-6 months medical/ surgical experience required
  • BCLS certification upon hire to show proof of valid current certification
  • ACLS course upon hire or completed within six months of your start date required.
  • Excellent physical assessment skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work effectively with a variety of staff, patients and families from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
  • Good patient/family teaching skills
  • Excellent critical thinking skills, with an ability to set priorities and work effectively in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work effectively/collaboratively in a team environment
  • Excellent attendance and discipline free record required

Nice To Haves

  • Current Emergency experience preferred
  • ICU experience is an asset
  • Coronary Care I & II certificates or the equivalent is preferred or completed within 1 year of your start date
  • TNCC, PALS or ENPC courses upon hire or completed within 1 year of your start date required.
  • An understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles as they relate to health practices is an asset.

  • Perform the duties expected of a Registered Nurse within an acute care hospital Emergency Department.
