About The Position
Humber River Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to work in their Emergency Department. They offer a unique training opportunity for Registered Nurses with Acute experience. Humber River Health is a multi-site organization serving over 850,000 people in the northwest Greater Toronto Area. Requirements
- Current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing
- Minimum 3-6 months medical/ surgical experience required
- BCLS certification upon hire to show proof of valid current certification
- ACLS course upon hire or completed within six months of your start date required.
- Excellent physical assessment skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work effectively with a variety of staff, patients and families from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Good patient/family teaching skills
- Excellent critical thinking skills, with an ability to set priorities and work effectively in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work effectively/collaboratively in a team environment
- Excellent attendance and discipline free record required
Nice To Haves
- Current Emergency experience preferred
- ICU experience is an asset
- Coronary Care I & II certificates or the equivalent is preferred or completed within 1 year of your start date
- TNCC, PALS or ENPC courses upon hire or completed within 1 year of your start date required.
- An understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles as they relate to health practices is an asset.
